SPRING /SUMMER

This particular project was all about showing my ability to diversify as a designer because I chose to work with something different from my conventional feminine contemporary style. In this spring summer project I draw inspiration from a Second World War movie known as Pearl Harbor, which is one of my favorite movies. In this design, I include a classical air force bomber jacket, flight suit and a leather hat with an essence of air force design. I really put a lot into this project and in order to ensure that I am successful, I cultivated a pretty good foundation by draping in order to create a number of silhouettes that will provide directions for the later stages of the design process. In order to create a silhouette, I had to cut the clothes and sew them again. I also performed draping in figure from. A lot of the shapes in the spring summer project were inspired by air runway and air force. The main idea behind is the fact that after men left for war, women needed to step up in the society in order to fill the gap left by men, i.e. they needed to be stronger. This contributed towards the loss of the feminine essence in designs that I came up with in this project.  I trust that such a design is able to identify and appeal to the logic and emotions of the targeted population and above all, ensure that is communicated something about the person wearing it.A close connetion between the design and something that actually took place also serves as a form of emotional and logical appeal to audienece
