This particular project is inspired by shadow abstract. The first step of this project was to get a concise idea of how to come up with designs with a material essence of shadow abstract, hence I researched an image of shadow abstract to help me get started and build a good design culture base. Black and white images served as the foundation for my designs because I cut them and integrated them with different images in order to create a shadow abstract look. I also made sure that the design patterns are consistent with the abstract. As usual, I draped to get silhouettes, which was an intellectually demanding affair as I had to come up with something new and consistent with the shadow abstract design profile. in creating the textile pattern, I also used black and white abstracts, plus I personally constructed the print fabric. In this particular project, I focused heavily on black and white in order to show that even a couple of simple colors can be used to create profound and aesthetically appealing designs. Employing a shadow abstract design profile alongside with these two colors provides a detailed design, despite the fact that I use two very simple colors. The outcome is a contemporary design that is quite simple, but not boring. My main motivation in this particular project is to capture the essence of fashion design from a physical perspective. Beauty articulated in the simplest of ways and using design elements that bring the best out of the material used and also captures the contemporary aspects of fashion design.
